The Nye County District Attorney's Office says two men were sentenced to life in prison for a murder that happened in July of 2018.
Officials said Dakota Saldivar has parole eligibility after ten years for murder, plus an additional eight to 20 years for use of a deadly weapon.
He was sentenced for killing his mother, Dawn Liebig.
The judge ordered the two sentences run back-to-back, so it's basically an 18-year term.
Nevada law states the maximum possible sentence for a first-degree murder would be 20 years to life, but Saldivar was only 17 when he committed the murder.
His half brother, Michael Wilson, got the same 18 to life sentence last month for his involvement in the murder.
They both stabbed and bludgeoned Liebig as she slept in 2018. According to the Attorney's Office, she woke up and cried for her sons' help, not realizing they were the attackers. After she died, the sons buried her in a shallow grave near the family home.
