The Pyramid Lake Tribal Council has voted to remove Vice-Chairman Alan Mandell from office, effective immediately.

The Tribal Council voted him out of office on February 7th, for "failing to uphold his oath of office."

Sherry Ely-Mendes will now serve the remainder of Mandell's term, which comes up for re-election this December.

Ely-Mendes' vacated councilmember position will be filled by Cassandra Darrough until the end of that term, which also ends this December.

In a statement, the Tribal Council says, "Mr. Mandell is no longer responsible for Tribal Council duties, but continues his contracted work at the Pyramid Lake Tribal Health Clinic."Â
