Reno Fire says one person sustained serious injuries after a fire broke out at in a single room at an apartment on State and Pine Streets early Sunday morning.
Officials got the call after midnight to a possible victim trapped in an apartment. Three Reno Police officers arrived first and found an unconscious adult male.
The victim was transported to Renown with life-threatening injuries. Reno Fire also found a dog inside. They handed the dog over to Washoe County Animal Control, who took it to the emergency vet.
The fire was contained to the apartment and no one else was displaced.
RFD, RPD, and REMSA responded to the scene.
Two Reno Police officers were treated on scene for possible smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
