From Carson City:

Battalion Chief Robert S. Schreihans has been selected by City Manager, Nick Marano, as Carson City's new Fire Chief. A panel consisting of local fire chiefs and the City Manager recently conducted interviews for the position. Mr. Schreihans was selected after careful review of the applicants' work experience and education. Mr. Schreihans has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada and over 30 years of fire service experience. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Labor Management program from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.

When promoted to Chief of Emergency Medical Services and Training, Chief Stacey Giomi noted that Mr. Schreihans “epitomized the kind of business savvy individual that will be extremely successful” in the Battalion Chief position and further stated, “Perhaps his greatest gift is his ability to really understand the business side of [the Emergency Medical Services] industry.”

Nick Marano said “Chief Schreihans has worked his way up through the department, and has earned a well-deserved reputation for integrity, perseverance and innovation. He is a dynamic leader who will serve the community well as the next Fire Chief. I proudly welcome him to this critically important position.”

It is anticipated that Schreihans will begin his new duties at the end of the month.
