From the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County:
The RTC is applying a new slurry seal to Victorian Avenue in Sparks. This seal will extend the life of the pavement up to ten years and is more cost-effective for taxpayers than replacing an unmaintained road’s surface.
Due to the work taking place, Victorian Avenue be closed to all traffic at the following times and locations:
Thursday, August 18
5 am to 5 pm
Closure from El Rancho Drive to Rock Boulevard
Friday, August 19
5 am to 5 pm
Closure from Rock Boulevard to Pyramid Way
Drivers are encouraged to use Prater Way as an alternate route during these times. This work will be completed ahead of the Nugget Best in the West Rib Cook Off. This project is part of an overall investment of $5.5 million to perform preventive maintenance on roads throughout the Truckee Meadows.
