The Nevada Women's Fund honored more than 70 local women for their personal and professional achievements and contributions to the community.
The 25th Annual Salute to Women of Achievement was Thursday at the Grand Sierra Resort with keynote speaker Reshma Saujani, who founded the non-profit 'Girls Who Code.'
Saujani says she hopes to close the gender gap in the computer programming fields, by encouraging girls to study math and science. She says we can all do our part, by encouraging girls to try things, even if they are hard at first.
"How do we teach girls to not be perfect? I want girls to not be discouraged if they don't get an A+," says Holland, "Say you get a B in something, say you get a C in something, it doesn't mean that you're not good at it. You have to try your best and not give up."
