Several area places are offering free Thanksgiving meals this week.
On Tuesday, Nov. 22 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Eldorado Resort Casino, Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Circus Circus Reno will serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings to approximately 1,000 people in need. A yearly tradition for the Silver Legacy, the 18th annual Jeffrey Olson Memorial Thanksgiving Feed will be held at the corner of 6th and Center Street in Downtown Reno.Â
This year’s delicious dinner prepared by the culinary teams at the Eldorado and Silver Legacy will include oven-roasted turkey, honey mustard glazed ham, creamy mashed potatoes, apple sage dressing, candied yams, green beans, pumpkin pie, cookies, warm apple cider and more.Â
The three properties will also donate unclaimed lost and found items to those in need, such as warm jackets, scarves, hats and toys for children.Â
Olson was the Silver Legacy’s former banquet manager who first brought the idea to the company 18 years ago.Â
