Officials said the Shop n Go at 12245 South Virginia Street has officially closed its doors after 57 years in business.

They said October 31 marked the last day the Linscott family operated the store.

Officials said the Shop n Go was built in 1962 and was the last stop on the way out of Reno. They said the shop was a local's hangout and had fresh breakfast, snack items, pizzas and craft beer on tap. They said it also had a propane refill station, Waterfalls, a spring water fill station and a dog daycare facility.

Officials said the Linscott family did not close their doors to unpopularity, but are ready to start a well-earned retirement. They said the Shop n Go's second location on Moana Lane will remain in business.

They said the new owners will be transforming the property into a family owned brewpub. They said renovations of existing building and new construction will transform the brewpub into a 10,000 square foot structure featuring a state of the art ten barrel brew house, family friendly dining and a 21 and over tap room. Officials said the brewpub is slated to open in summer of 2020.

They said the owners are also retaining the propane refill station, re-branded as Turn 'n Burn Propane. The Dog Park and Waterfalls will also continue to operate.

Officials said Turn 'n Burn is now open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week and will continue during construction. They said customers can fill any size propane tank, return expired tanks and purchase new or re-certified tanks.
