Crews Fight Wildland Fire North of Truckee Near Highway 89

Authorities say a campfire is likely to blame for a small wildfire, located just west of Donner Ski Ranch.

The one-fourth acre Donner Fire started early Monday afternoon.

Air tankers and helicopters made drops on the fire to contain it before crews could get a hose line around it.

Crews will be on scene for the rest of the day mopping up.

The cause is under investigation, however, it is likely that this fire started from a campfire that was not put out well enough.

No structures are threatened.

Truckee Fire, the Forest Service and CalFire responded to the fire.Â
