With Thanksgiving also comes St. Vincent's annual lunchtime meal. All prepared by the Nugget. Volunteers of all ages came to help. You're never too young to have a servant's heart.
"I'm extremely proud. Very happy he wanted to do this today come and help the less fortunate," said Tonya, Isaac's grandma.Â
Isaac is one of almost two hundred volunteers helping with this year's Thanksgiving meal.Â
"Thank God for all the people who have done this for us. A lot of us do not have enough money right now and we're down and out unfortunately. But things will get better it's wonderful that we have the community come together and do this for us," said Tiffany Hendrix.Â
It's about building relationships.
"They're no different than you, this cameraman, or myself. Or anybody else," said Ray Trevino, Director of the Dining Hall at St. Vincent's.Â
Isaac decided to come help all on his own.Â
"Because I felt bad for all the people that they do not have a lot of stuff like we do," said the little boy.Â
He's not the only kid helping today.Â
"It's always good to see young people because that's our future. So they'll be helping others when we're gone," said Trevino.Â
While it's nice to get a good warm meal, perhaps there is something else that makes this particular dinner a little bit more sweet. For Tiffany, being able to spend Thanksgiving with her brother means everything to her. A special ingredient that makes her Thanksgiving meal all the more sweet.Â
