The holidays will be here before we know it and many are already starting to go through their shopping list. That means stores are starting to get busy and are already looking for extra help.
Companies are hiring all across the country, and here in Reno, Best Buy is holding a hiring event.
They are looking for 38 employees before Thanksgiving and they tell us the seasonal job could lead to a permanent one.
“We keep about 40 percent of our seasonal employees who start with us, there are a tons of leaders within the company who start as seasonal, that's how I started 15 years ago, so it's a great way to get an introduction to the company and to understand the culture and what we are all about here,” says Heather Silverio, employee at Best Buy.
You don’t have to be a tech expert to apply but they are looking for people who are interested in finding solutions and enjoy talking about the products they sell.
They've had all types of people of all ages come in for the job fair. In two hours they interviewed eight people at their Sparks location.
Best Buy isn’t the only big store looking for employees. A Target spokesperson says they are looking for 130,000 seasonal employees across the country.
