Have you ever gone close to 150 miles an hour in a car?  Probably not. Franz Weber has. He's an Olympian and six time consecutive world speed skiing champion. And as a Reno resident, he offers his passion for sports and the wild outdoors to those who want healthy, adventure travel. "We have been doing it for the last 30 years on the global basis and then more and more trying to do it here, especially since we offer four distinct seasons.

Franz explain what one day would look like. "We would take motor boats to a barge, from barge we take a balloon ride. We land with balloon and take jet skis across the lake, have lunch on the lake, breakfast, I mean on the lake shore, change into mountain bike clothes then take mountain bikes down immigrant trail to Boca Dam transferring to a raft. We raft down the Truckee River through a class 5 section called Jaws. Then we have a tent for lunch where horses are tied up. We switch onto horses and ride out through I-80 canyon and then end up with a 9 holes of golf in Verdi."

While the cost to go on a Tour de Franz trip is hefty, Franz is also raising big bucks for local charities like the Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway. This 116 mile bike path is great for families, riders of all levels, even commuters who want to bike to work. "This week we have a fundraiser that generates awareness for the Tahoe Pyramid Bikeway and hopefully raises a lot of funds.  At this point we are already at over $100,000 without having the event started." The Tour de Franz is a great, healthy way to take a vacation and help out our local community all at the same time.
