The US Marshals Service, Fugitive Task Force said they worked alongside Washoe County Sheriff's Office, All Threats All Crimes Unit (ATAC) and the Yolo County Sheriff's Office to locate a wanted fugitive in the area of South Virginia Street and East Patriot Street on Monday.
They said Jamonta Lamar Simonton was a suspect of a robbery that happened in June in Woodland, California.
They said Simonton, along with two other people, allegedly robbed employees at a legal marijuana cultivation site at gun point. The US Marshals Service says approximately 180 pounds of marijuana were taken.
They said Simonton was booked in the Washoe County Detention Facility on unrelated local charges in addition to a fugitive from justice charge. They said once Simonton satisfies his local charges, he will be extradited to Yolo County.
Multiple agencies were involved in the case, including ICE-ERO, Washoe County District Attorney’s Office, Division of Investigations, Nevada Division of Parole and Probation, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Nevada Department of Corrections, Office of the Inspector General (NDOC IG), Nevada DMV Compliance and Enforcement Division, Nevada Gaming and Control Board and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
