Tom Steyer to Visit Several Nevada Cities This Week

Tom Steyer has announced his campaign tour will be coming to Nevada.

The tour will start in Gardnerville and make its way to Las Vegas.

Tom Steyer remained hopeful before hitting the stage of the National Automobile Museum in Reno for a Town Hall on Tuesday.

"I'm not exactly sure how it's all going to fall out, but it's going to be a new race after tonight, and we are in Nevada. My neighboring state, a place where I'm doing well, a place where want to do really well, where I have to do really well, where I've spent a lot of time."

And also had a few comments when he found out about some of his fellow candidates dropping out of the race.

"I really enjoy and like Andrew Yang, I think he is somebody who brought a lot of new ideas and fresh energy to this race...he's also a very nice guy."

Before his speech at the National Automobile Museum, Steyer had a meet and greet lunch in Gardnerville, where he got to shake hands with potential voters and answer questions face to face.

"You know my first job was in Gardnerville Nevada? I was a ranch hand!" Steyer said to a cheering crowd.

Steyer talked about the environment and his take on student loan debt, saying that he would support two years free tuition at a community college, and all other student loan debt would be capped at one percent interest. For Minden resident Grace Caldwell, who used to own JJ's diner, it meant a little more that Tom Steyer was in town.

"We bought it in 1988 and sold it in 1997, it was a breakfast and doughnut shop, so it was kinda fun. Especially since I was going to come anyway, when I saw where it was going to be held, I thought oh, this is kinda interesting," said Caldwell.

"I was in New Hampshire all last week, so, Nevada is an incredibly important state, and so because I care a lot about Nevada and wanted to make sure I look people from Nevada in the eye as much as possible," said Steyer.
