The City of Reno has launched its Preventative Maintenance Slurry Seal Project in Ward 6, with work scheduled to continue in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 throughout the summer.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of July.
The work is part of the city's ongoing effort to preserve and extend the life of local roadways.
Sierra Nevada Construction is completing the project.
Slurry seal operations are fast-moving, typically affecting each street for one day.
Residents should expect temporary parking restrictions and minor impacts to regular services, such as trash collection and street access.
Residents can monitor the project in real time using the Capital Projects Interactive Map.
Key reminders include:
- No-parking signs and door hangars will be posted 48 hours before slurry work begins
- Do not park on the street on your scheduled slurry day
- If a car is left on the street, it will be towed to a nearby street
- Waste Management will continue regular trash pickup on scheduled days unless otherwise notified
Residents are encouraged to check the Capital Projects Interactive Map weekly, move cars as needed, and share the information with neighbors.
