Joining Forces Program Documents Pedestrian Safety

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division (NHP) partnered with other Nevada law enforcement agencies in a Joining Forces campaign to reduce pedestrian fatalities on Nevada roadways.

NHP says the campaign urges pedestrians and drivers to share the road and that pedestrian safety is a two-way street.

The campaign is set to run from Wednesday, August 7 through Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Nevada State Police says that since July 31, 2024, 67 pedestrians have died in pedestrian-related crashes on Nevada's roads.

In an effort to reduce those numbers to zero, State Troopers along with partnered agencies, will be issuing citations to both pedestrians and drivers who violate traffic safety laws.

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol says they remain dedicated to reducing the number of fatalities on our roadways by promoting safe pedestrian and driver behavior. Reminding the community that whether you are in a car or on foot, stay alert and safely share the road.Â
