The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) says a stolen puppy was recovered on Tuesday.
They said a four-month-old German Shepherd puppy was stolen nearly a month ago on Friday, October 18. They said Little Dude was allegedly stolen from the owner's vehicle while it was parked outside a convenience store on Sun Valley Boulevard.
WCSO said the victim was able to get surveillance photos of the two suspects, one man and one woman, from the store. They said the owner filed a report on October 22.
They said in the early morning hours on Monday, the victim contacted WCSO to report seeing the two people matching the suspects' description inside a casino in Sun Valley. WCSO said deputies responded and arrested the couple on charges related to vehicle burglary.
They said deputies discovered that the puppy had been sold to a Reno woman who was unaware that the dog had been stolen. WCSO said deputies located the woman who purchased the puppy and she willingly gave Little Dude over to them.
WCSO said around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the puppy was reunited with his rightful owner.
