Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) says a wrong way driver on westbound I80 at Keystone Avenue closed the freeway for several hours, traffic reopened around 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
The wrong way driver was traveling eastbound on I80 westbound when the wrong way drive struck a westbound vehicle head on.
The vehicles came to rest blocking all lanes of traffic at about 5:40 a.m.
NHP says the driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to Renown with critical injuries.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a white Chevy, was transported with minor injuries and is now in custody for driving under the influence (DUI).
