Bagel Sales High on Day Before Thanksgiving

Did you know that the day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the year for sales? That's what one bagel shop tells us.

"It's one of the busiest bagel days of the entire year," says Ralph Baker, General Manager at Einstein Bros. Bagels in South Reno. "Maybe behind Christmas Eve."

At Einstein Bros. Bagels in South Reno, on a typical weekday, they go sell about 3,000 bagels. But today, it's between 5,000 and 7,000 bagels. That's almost a 50% increase in sales.

Baker says for the most part, people are coming in to bring them into work, or save them for breakfast tomorrow.

"We got them a whole day in advance," said Becky Gee. "There's too much running around on Thanksgiving, and we're going to be cooking all day."

Einstein's tells us they were expecting to sell even more bagels today, but the snowy weather slowed sales just a bit.
