The City of Reno announced it hired Brooke Stream as the new Director of Human Resources.
She begins her employment on Monday, March 15.
The Director of Human Resources plans, directs, manages and oversees activities and operations of the Human Resources Department within the City of Reno, including employee benefits, employee relations, labor relations and related operations and services. The position is also involved in the decisions of management affecting collective bargaining and serves on the management team for the City of Reno.
Stream is from Henderson, where she was the Manager of Organizational Effectiveness in the Department of Human Resources since 2018. In that role, she oversaw the city's programs and initiatives relating to training and organizational development, employee culture and engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance management and succession planning.
Prior to her current role, she served as a human recourse business partner for the City of Henderson, providing guidance and assistance for several city departments with respect to all facets of human resources.
She's been involved in the field of human resources for 25 years, all in the public sector. First with Clark County, Nevada for 18 years and at Henderson since 2014. She worked both in human resources and in several county departments as an HR liaison.
She is a graduate of leadership in Las Vegas, Clark County's Management Academy and Leadership Forum, and holds a Master's Degree from UNLV in Urban Leadership. She is a member of the Southern Nevada International Public Management Association and past president of the Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.
