The Bureau of Land Management says the 6,882-acre North Fire is now fully contained, north of Hallelujah Junction.

The fire started on Aug. 2 in Lassen County, California.

Some smoke may still be seen in our area.

Originally there were two other smaller fires, the five-acre South Fire and even smaller Shoe Tree Fire that merged, creating the third larger North Fire.

Fire officials said the blaze was started because of a car pulling a camper trailer with a flat tire, which put out sparks.

U.S. 395 and Red Rock Road were temporarily closed but have since reopened.

Fire officials say so far no buildings have been affected although the Reno Fire Department says one puppy was rescued.
