The new year is officially in full swing and there are many things you can do to kick it into gear -- including taking a trip into the great outdoors.
On Wednesday, January 1st, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. you can go on the "First Day Hike."
It's a four mile hike at the Walker River Pitchfork Visitor Center located at 211 East Walker Road in Yerington.
After the hike is over, hikers can enjoy an apple cider toast to celebrate this new decade.
And the best new yet, is that it is free to all participants.
