Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest a man wanted from New Jersey for failure to appear on a case regarding aggravated sexual assault of a victim less than 13.
Deputies in Winnemucca say that they have arrested 53-year-old Patrick Duffy from West Deptford, New Jersey on an arrest warrant for failure to appear.
Humboldt County Sheriff Mike Allen said that it appeared that Duffy had been on the run for the past several weeks and initial reports showed that Duffy had been in Humboldt County for several days.
On Wednesday, May 3 a deputy says he was patrolling near the Pilot Travel Center west of Winnemucca when he saw a suspicious vehicle. After checking the license plate, he found that the plates were stolen and did not match the vehicle he was checking.
At first, officials say it looked like the vehicle was empty, but later they found that it was occupied by Duffy. They say Duffy was reluctant, but then officers were able to arrest him without incident.
Duffy was then transported and booked at the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on charges of Possession of Stolen Property and Fugitive from Justice. The Department of Public Safety Investigation Division, also known as NDI, assisted in the arrest.
