A jury in Yerington is deliberating the fate of a Silver Springs man accused of abusing and murdering his girlfriend's son.Â
Cody Wallace was arrested and charged in connection with the death of Thomas O'Connell IV in November of 2010.Â
Today prosecutors and defense attorneys presented closing arguments. "If the state hasn't shown you that Cody Wallace intentionally inflicted child abuse on Tom Tom, you can't find felony murder" Wallace's defense attorney Paul Quade argued. Jeremy Reichenberg, the Lyon County Chief Deputy District Attorney pursuing the charges against Wallace argued that the "injuries are too widespread, too massive, too serious to happen from a normal fall."
The judge dismissed the jurors into deliberation, guiding them to go over all of the evidence carefully. It is not known how long the jurors are expected to deliberate.Â
