Nevada state Senator Debbie Smith will have surgery to remove a brain tumor Friday morning in Houston. However, in Carson City, Senator Smith is on the minds of lawmakers.
“She's been a giant of a leader for Northern Nevada, and all lawmakers here are praying for her health and speedy return,” said Assemblyman Pat Hickey.
“We're thinking great thoughts for her,” said Senator Mo Denis. “She's a fighter and we're hoping that we can get her back as quickly as possible.”
“She's a personal friend of mine,” said Senator Ben Kieckhefer. “I am very sad, worried, and nervous for her. But I think she's a fighter, and will be back in this session. I am hopeful and I'm praying for her daily.”
There is no word yet on when Senator Smith will return to the Senate floor.
