Recent Snowfall Could Increase Potential for Area Avalanches

Because of our recent snowfall, more area ski resorts are closing later this season.

Diamond Peak has announced it will remain open for skiing and snowboarding through April 17th.

The late closing date means the resort will have a 137-day season - the longest its had since the 1994-95 season.

Earlier this week, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe announced its season will last until May 8th.

And today, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows announced they'll stay open through May 30th, if conditions allow.
