Lake Tahoe Community College President Jeff DeFranco announced on Tuesday that he is stepping down from his position at the end of the semester.

He made the announcement during an address to the college.

DeFranco has been with the college since 2012, but says he's ready to pass the baton to the next person.

He also talked about the future of the college, with them building the Tahoe Basin Public Safety Training Complex, which will serve as a training ground for fire, forestry, and EMS, with construction beginning this summer.
