Nevada County Search and Rescue crews made two rescues over the holiday weekend in Truckee.
Teams used snowcats and tracked UTVs to get two groups of people back to safety after they were stranded while participating in winter activities.
The Nevada County Sheriff's Office wants the incidents to be a reminder that outdoor recreation during this time of year can bring unexpected complications like equipment failure, difficult travel, and harsh weather conditions.
They say you should always have a travel plan, pack plenty of supplies, and let someone know when you plan on heading out and returning.
