PCC - Drug Round Up

Dropped off medications sit in a collection bin during the Partnership Carson City's Drug Roundup.

Partnership Carson City held a bi-annual drug round-up on Saturday.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the critical impact of keeping unused and expired prescription drugs within households.

The event works to safeguard the well-being of the community's most vulnerable members.

"We are committed to providing essential education on the proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications, sharps (syringes) and more," said Partnership Carson City in a statement.

The event ran from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  at four locations around Carson City, including the Save marts on North and South Carson Streets, the Smith's on William Street and the FoodMaxx on Highway 50 East.

Partnership Carson City also offers at-home drug disposal kits, as well as medicine lock boxes and lock bags.
