The Carson City Fire Department is hosting a free community wildfire education and preparedness workshop later this month.

The public is invited to attend the workshop on Tuesday, May 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center, Performance Hall, at 449 West King Street. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with presentations starting 30 minutes later.

Topics expected to be discussed include the 2025 wildfire season outlook, risk reduction efforts, and what people can do to reduce the threat of wildfires.

Local agencies and volunteer programs will be available to answer questions.

Residents are encouraged to register for the free workshop to help prepare for wildfires in our community. 

This event is partnered with the UNR, Reno Extension - Living with Fire Program, Nevada Division of Forestry, Carson City Emergency Management, Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space, and the Carson City Fire Department.Â
