The Nevada Air National Guard is being deployed to Oregon to help with fires there.

The C-130 Hercules plane that's part of the High Rollers unit is being converted into a large air tanker.

The Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System, or MAFFS can deliver 3,000 gallons of fire retardant during a single drop.

Crews have been working around-the-clock to get the plane ready to head to the Pacific Northwest.

"Being able to save houses and save people and personnel and maintenance crews some time it means a lot to us. Being able to save a life, save a house, it means the world to us," says Sgt. Zachary Schuler, crew chief of the 152nd Airlift Wing.

The aircraft and supporting Airmen will deploy from the Nevada Air National Guard Base in Reno to the Klamath Falls Airtanker Base in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where they will integrate with personnel from the Wyoming Air National Guard’s 153rd Airlift Wing, based in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
