Halloween is just under two weeks away, and that means one of Nevada's most haunted towns is gearing up.
When the sun sets over Virginia City, the ghosts rise out of the dead during Hauntober.
Brian Shoaf owns Virginia City's darkest side; an escape room and Ghost Town with some history added.
"Think of boating Nevada. Of course, we are in Virginia City. Anything that's old, it takes you down the old mine, the old saloon, the Number 13 train. We got the cemetery. People come up to me saying it was like being in the Pirates of the Caribbean,” said Brian Shoaf, Owner and Operator.
Ghost town is meant for families. So, you won't see any creatures jumping out.
It's not overly scary, but it is loud, it is flashy and still gives a spooky experience.
"There were some parts where I wasn't sure if I was going to make it through the entire room,” said Jeremiah Gonzales, from Texas, after visiting the Escape Room.
The Escape room is best for those adrenalin junkies, if you dare.
"It was pretty intense, but we made it in the nick of time. This is kinda like my vacation. My time to experience Halloween up here,” said Gonzales.
It's no match for those who are no stranger to escape rooms.
"It was definitely a challenge. I've done quite a few cosrooms in the past. This had a new unique element to it that I wasn't quite prepared for,” said Karissa Mable from Fallon.
Because in Virginia City, where there is fright night, a Hauntober parade and a haunted train, it might be the unofficial Halloween headquarters.
