Nevada State Senator Julia Ratti who serves in the 13th district which covers parts of Washoe County that include Reno and Sparks announced she is resigning.
Ratti's reason for leaving the position were personal but said she and her family were moving outside the boundary of District 13 which would make her ineligible to serve.Â
She plans to focus her efforts on public health in her role as the Director of Programs and Projects for Washoe County Health District.
Ratti was elected to the State Senate in 2016 and worked her way to becoming the Assistant Majority Leader in 2019.Â
