SkiDUCK, a local non-profit, helped 50 kids hit the slopes on Sunday.
The charity partners with Palisades Tahoe to give financially disadvantaged and at-risk youth the opportunity to ski and snowboard for free.
"They make our SkiDUCK kids feel welcomed and at home, which is kind of a great experience, right?" said Clint Lunde, Executive Director of SkiDUCK. "This is totally different from what the kids are used to seeing. So, even just being up here in Tahoe is kind of a treat, much less getting to ski and snowboard for free."
SkiDUCK started in 2010 and the organization is now entering its 15th year in operation.
Kids in the program get free lift tickets, free rentals and free lessons.
"Once they bring the kids up, we actually outfit them with all the jackets, pants, gloves, goggles, helmets. Everything needed to stay warm and dry up on the hill on a day like today," said Lunde.
