An alleged larceny attempt in downtown Reno on Friday afternoon resulted in a person firing a gunshot and a suspect fleeing the scene.
It happened at the River Boat Inn around 2:30 p.m., according to a spokesperson for the Reno Police Department.
A person said they came across a suspect trying to steal copper wire and held them at gunpoint, firing a round.
The suspect then fled. Police said it was unclear if they were hit or not.
Police have no suspect in custody at this time.
They are still looking for the suspect and performing surveillance, but should be clearing the scene soon.
Police say there is no active threat to the public.
