A collaborative art installation created by Northern Nevada children affected by childhood cancer will be on display during a community viewing reception on Wednesday.
The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation, in partnership with Artown, is inviting the community to attend the viewing reception for the "Gold Ribbon of Courage" installation on Wednesday, July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hub Coffee Roasters, 2020 RED Drive, No. 101, in the Reno Experience District.
The installation features a collaborative gold childhood-cancer-awareness ribbon made from individual wooden pieces. Twenty-two Northern Nevada childhood cancer warriors, survivors, and families of angels decorated each piece through painting, drawing, writing, and personal expression before the pieces were reassembled into one complete "Gold Ribbon of Courage."
More information is available on the Artown calendar.
