Crash in Sparks

A motorcycle rider is in critical condition after being thrown off his bike during a crash in Sparks.


ORIGINAL STORY

Early Saturday afternoon, a crash involving a motorcyclist and car sent two people to the hospital. One person remains in critical condition.

The motorcyclist was struck and thrown off his bike at the intersection of Rock Boulevard and Freeport.

Before the crash, the car was traveling northbound on Rock Boulevard, trying to make a left turn onto Freeport Boulevard. As the motorcycle headed southbound on Rock Boulevard, making its way to Freeport, the car and motorcycle collided. 

According to Sergeant Shawn Congdon from the Sparks Police Department, two people were inside the car when the crash happened; the driver suffered minor injuries and was sent to a local hospital, while the passenger remained unharmed.

Sergeant Congdon says the case is still under investigation, but alcohol doesn't appear to be a contributing factor in the crash.

The initial cause of the crash is still unknown, as the Sparks Police's Major Accident Investigation Team, further investigates, gathering witness statements and additional evidence.
