Investigators say they found drugs, along with a rifle and brass knuckles during a traffic stop near the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center on Sunday.  Â
According to the Storey County Sheriff's Office, a K9 smelled possible narcotics during an open air sniff of the car.
Deputies allegedly then found the drugs and weapons inside.
Investigators tell us they also found what appears to methamphetamine in the pocket of the passenger - identified as 41-year-old Kristopher Shaffer.
Both he and the driver, 36-year-old Jesse Perks of Reno, now face several drug and gun-related charges.
Shaffer, a convicted felon, was placed under arrest on the following charges:
* Arrest on other agency warrant
* Possess schedule I or II controlled substance, less than 14g, 1st or 2nd offense
* Use or possess drug paraphernalia
* Own or possess firearm by prohibited person
Perks was placed under arrest on the following charges:
* Possess schedule I or II controlled substance, less than 14g, 1st or 2nd offense
* Possess dangerous weapon
* Own or possess firearm by prohibited person
Both Shaffer and Perks were booked into the Storey County Detention Facility, while Shaffer awaits extradition to Washington State where he has an active, extraditable warrant out of Vancouver.
