The Education Alliance is teaming up with the RennerVation Foundation to provide school supplies to students at Lena Juniper Elementary School in Sparks and Silver Lake Elementary School in Reno.
Deliveries are scheduled for Thursday. The first drop-off will be at Lena Juniper Elementary School, and the second at Silver Lake Elementary School.
The schools were selected because they face unique funding challenges. While many schools in the Washoe County School District qualify for federal Title I funding, the available dollars are limited, and only the schools with the highest percentages of students in need receive those funds.
As a result, schools like Lena Juniper and Silver Lake must manage similar levels of need with fewer resources.
“This partnership helps fill critical gaps and ensures that students have the tools they need to succeed,” the Education Alliance said.
