Authorities say engine failure is being blamed for a small plane landing in a field near the Reno-Tahoe International Airport Thursday morning.Â
The incident involving the single-engine taildragger happened around noon on Thursday near the airport's property in a field near Rock and McCarran Blvd. The field is owned by UNR Farms.
The pilot was the only person onboard the aircraft, and they were not hurt. No hazardous material leaked as a result of the landing.
There were no impacts to normal airport operations or roadway traffic.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
