Katie Histing, a fierce childhood cancer advocate and a founder of Katie's Collective, passed Monday evening at Renown after a prayer vigil was held for her.
Histing was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in 2018 at just 17 years old. Earlier this year, she revealed her cancer was incurable.
Since her diagnosis, the Manogue graduate turned to art to help her through chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Katie's Collective was founded by Katie and her family to sell her art on stickers and a wide variety of other items, with part of the money raised being donated to help other families with children fighting cancer.
Over the weekend Histing went into cardiac arrest twice and was taken by Care Flight to Renown.
A vigil was quickly arranged for her, with more than 100 people gathering on the rooftop of Renown's parking garage across from her hospital room on Monday night to pray for her and show their love for the family of a woman who fought cancer until her last breath.
An hour later, Histing passed.
