Many government offices and public services will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Here's a running list of confirmed closures across the region:


City of Reno

City of Reno administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day.

All City of Reno recreation facilities and pools will be closed on September 1, except for Idlewild Pool, which will be open for:

 Lap swim: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 Open swim: 1:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The Reno Police Department (RPD) advises the public of the following phone and online reporting options:

• For emergencies requiring police, fire, or medical response, call 911.

• For non-emergency assistance from Dispatch, call 775-334-COPS (2677).

• To file an online report, visit RenoPD.com and click “File a Report.”


City of Sparks

The following Sparks offices and facilities will be closed on Labor Day:

• Sparks City Hall – 431 Prater Way

• Sparks Parks and Recreation – 98 Richards Way

• Alf Sorensen Community Center – 1400 Baring Blvd.

• Larry D. Johnson Community Center – 1200 12th Street

• Sparks Municipal Court – 450 C Street

• Sparks Police Department Front Desk – 1701 E. Prater Way

Regular hours resume Tuesday, September 2.


Washoe County

Most Washoe County offices will be closed Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. The following offices will be closed:

• Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex – 1001 E. Ninth Street, Reno

• All Washoe County Library locations. Book drops and online services will remain available. Access library hours and online services at www.washoecountylibrary.us

• Northern Nevada Public Health – All clinical, environmental health, birth & death record, and WIC services

• Regional Animal Services Shelter Operations and Office (Field operations will continue as normal; pet redemptions available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

• Reno Justice Court, Sparks Justice Court, Incline Village Justice Court, and Wadsworth Justice Court

• The Second Judicial District Court

• The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office

• The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office – All administrative offices will be unavailable. Visiting and the cashier remain open. For emergency assistance, call 911 or the non-emergency line at 775-785-WCSO (9276)

• Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Headquarters/Fire Prevention and Administrative Offices – 3663 Barron Way

• Washoe County Human Services Agency and all meal distribution locations

The following county office will be open:

• The Office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for fictitious firm names, notary bond filings, and marriage licenses. Passport services will not be available.


Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County

RTC administrative and customer service offices will be closed on Monday, September 1.

Bus service will run on a Saturday-level schedule. Riders can plan trips at rtcwashoe.com or through the Transit App.


U.S. Post Office

Post Offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day. There will be no mail delivery, caller service, or PO Box access. All services will resume on Tuesday, September 2.


Elko County

The Elko County Sheriff's Office administrative offices will be closed on the following days:

 Friday, August 29 – Closed at noon for Fair Day

 Monday, September 1 – Closed all day for Labor Day
