A 26-year-old man is facing several child sex-related charges after being arrested on Tuesday.

Washoe County deputies say a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children started the investigation, in June 2024.

They say a task force determined that the computer uploads came from an IP address in Sparks.

A warrant was subsequently served and the suspect, Orion Scott Pickens was interviewed by detectives and his cellphone was allegedly seized. Deputies also say they also reviewed data given by X (formerly Twitter).

Authorities say the Northern Nevada Cyber Center performed a digital forensic analysis where they found additional alleged evidence.

Pickens was booked into the Washoe County Jail where he faces felony charges of possession, distribution, and use of the internet to control Child Sex Abuse Material involving a minor under the age of 16. Â
