Mochinut Reno has reopened after it failed a recent health inspection.Â
In an online post on Instagram, it says, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate all the feedback and support we've received. Thank you for sticking with us - we can't wait to serve you!"
The northwest Reno store had said it was closed for renovations to its kitchen, but did not mention a health inspection.
FEBRUARY 26, 2025:
Mochinut in northwest Reno has been closed since Friday after failing a health inspection conducted on Thursday, and on Tuesday the owner commented on the closure.
The inspection found violations including employees not properly washing hands or equipment and failing to change gloves, as well as access to handwashing sinks being blocked off.
It was also found that refrigerated ingredients were not marked with dates.
These issues can lead to foodborne illness.
On Instagram, Mochinut posted last week that they were closed due to renovations to their kitchen, but they did not mention a health inspection.
When reached for comment by 2 News Nevada, Mochinut said they take the matter very seriously and are committed to providing high-quality food and a safe dining environment.
They said what the Health Department found were "a few minor issues" involving "things we had overlooked."
"We recognize these concerns and have been working closely with Washoe County Health officials to address and resolve them as quickly as possible," said Mochinut in their statement to 2 News Nevada. "To ensure full compliance, we have already implemented additional sanitation procedures and enhanced staff training."
The owner of Mochinut Reno said they expect to complete all necessary measures soon and look forward to reopening in the near future.
