The Wingfield Springs Preservation Group is inviting the public to attend a meeting regarding proposed redevelopment of Red Hawk Golf Course.

The meeting is being organized by local homeowners wanting to fight back against Red Hawk Golf Club and Resorts plan to tear down the Lake 18-Hole golf course and replace it with 764 single and multi-family homes.

Thursday's 6 p.m. meeting will be held inside the cafeteria at Sky Ranch Middle School located at 1200 Windmill Farms Parkway in Sparks.

It will focus on the role and potential involvement of the HOA, consideration of legal counsel and an overview of the potential financial impacts to the community.

The Wingfield Springs Preservation group has also raised concerns about the increase of traffic in the area, the diminished water supply to the Wingfield Springs HOA, the damage the development would have towards protected wetlands and the adverse effects on the local wildlife.

The Wingfield Springs Preservation group says that this new housing development would have a devastating impact on their 1994 master planned community.

Additionally, the group has concerns with the owners of Red Hawk not meeting with the community and the lack of communication about the project.

In November 2025, developers met with the City of Sparks and the application is still under review.
