Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue reports that forward progress has been stopped on the O’Brien Fire in north Reno.

Officials say multiple roadside fires are estimated at approximately 4 acres.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office in an online post, Firefighters on scene have contained the fire, which burned northwest of W. 7th Avenue and Opal Station, approaching Golden Valley Road.

Deputies say that no structures have been reported as damaged and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Authorities remind drivers to use caution in the area as emergency vehicles and crews remain on scene working the incident.

Smoke was reported in the area of 7th Avenue and Flynn Drive in north Reno, prompting a response from emergency crews.

In an online post, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office said deputies are assisting the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District with a brush fire in the area.

Officials are asking the public to avoid the area while emergency crews actively work to put the fire out.
