A 25-year-old man is behind bars accused of breaking into a home late Monday night in Spanish Springs.
Deputies say they were called to a home on Sahara Court just before 11 p.m. for a residential burglary in progress. Deputies say they were informed a woman called to report a stranger in her home, and he was currently in a fight with her son.
When deputies entered the home, they found the 15-year-old son holding the suspect, Sawyer Robbins.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation indicates that Robbins entered the home through a sliding glass door with the son’s bedroom near that entry.
Deputies say the son heard his bedroom door handle “jiggling,” so he opened the door and found Robbins inside. The mother awoke to her dogs barking and walked out of her bedroom to see her son confronting the suspect.
Robbins was taken into custody without incident.
He faces one felony charge of residential burglary.
