Doctors ran out of options to help an Arizona man with his many life-threatening ailments - until his sister found a place that could give him the care he needed in Las Vegas.

After battling sepsis, cardiac arrest, strokes and a double leg amputation, doctors at two different hospitals in Arizona told PJ Carlton that he should be taken off of life support.

Luckily for him, PJ's sister Cindy kept searching and found a place that would help him. That place was the PAM Healthy Specialty Hospital in Las Vegas.

The center focuses on caring for patients with serious medical issues who need additional care and time in the hospital before they can go home.

When PJ transferred there in June, his condition was critical - but in just a matter of weeks, he began making progress that no one thought was possible.

PJ is now able to stand on his prosthetic legs and breathe on his own.

He will stay in care until he has re-built his strength, balance and independence.

When asked if he thought he would be alive today if he wasn't at PAM Health, PJ responded, "Hell no, I wouldn't be. I'd be dead, if it wasn't for this team."
