The Missouri Supreme Court has blocked a new U.S. House map backed by President Donald Trump from being used in the November election. The court ruled Thursday that the map cannot be used until voters first get a chance in November to uphold or reject it. Republican Secretary of State Denny Hoskins had turned down a citizens’ petition seeking to put the map to a vote. But the court reversed that decision and ordered a referendum to be held. The ruling could be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Missouri’s new House districts were drawn by the Republican-led Legislature to try to help the GOP win another seat.
