U.S. Secret Service says an armed man was shot and killed after entering the secure perimeter of Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s resort in Palm Beach, Florida. Trump was not there, but was instead spending the weekend at the White House. According to the Secret Service, the man was observed early Sunday by the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago property carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can. The Palm Beach County sheriff says he was shot by a sheriff's deputy and two Secret Service agents. Trump has faced threats to his life before, including two assassination attempts during the 2024 campaign.
